The short version

You own your product and your users' data. We provide the platform. You follow the rules, we keep the platform running. If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last three months. Full details below.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating a Lumio account or using the Lumio platform ("Service"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Lumio.

If you are using Lumio on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Notify us immediately at support@lumio.so if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Lumio account.

3. What Lumio provides

Lumio provides a no-code platform for building, launching, and managing AI-powered product interfaces. This includes the visual builder, onboarding tools, analytics dashboard, billing infrastructure, and publishing functionality described on our website.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes wherever possible.

4. What you're responsible for

Your AI model. You connect your own AI model or API key to Lumio. You are responsible for ensuring your use of that model complies with the terms of your model provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and all applicable laws.

Your product. The product you build on Lumio is yours. You are responsible for its content, its outputs, its compliance with applicable laws, and the experience it delivers to your users.

Your users' data. You are the data controller for any personal data your users provide to your product. You are responsible for maintaining a privacy policy for your product, obtaining any necessary consents, and complying with applicable data protection laws.

Accurate information. You agree not to misrepresent your product, its capabilities, or your identity to your users or to Lumio.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Lumio to:

  • Build products that generate illegal, harmful, abusive, or deceptive content

  • Violate the intellectual property rights of others

  • Collect user data in ways that violate applicable privacy laws

  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the security of the platform

  • Resell or sublicense access to the Lumio platform itself without our written consent

  • Build products targeting children under 13 without appropriate parental consent mechanisms

  • Generate spam, phishing content, or deceptive communications

  • Impersonate any person, company, or entity

  • Use the platform in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without refund.

6. Intellectual property

Yours. You retain all rights to the products you build on Lumio, the content you create, and the data your users generate. We do not claim ownership over any of it.

Ours. Lumio, its logo, the platform, and all associated technology are owned by Lumio, Inc. and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the platform itself.

License you grant us. By using Lumio, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and process your content solely for the purpose of delivering the Service to you. We do not use your content for any other purpose.

7. Billing and payments

Subscriptions. Lumio offers monthly and annual subscription plans. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Free trial. Pro and Scale plans include a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, you will be asked to enter payment details to continue. If you do not, your account reverts to the Starter plan.

Refunds. If you upgrade to a paid plan and request a refund within 7 days, we will issue a full refund with no questions asked. After 7 days, refunds are issued at our discretion. Annual plan refunds are prorated for the unused portion of the term.

Price changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing the price of any plan. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Taxes. Prices listed do not include applicable sales tax or VAT, which may be added depending on your location.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge your card three times over seven days before suspending your account. We will notify you at each attempt. Your data is not deleted during this period.

8. Cancellation and termination

You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access until then. Your data remains available for 30 days after cancellation, after which it is permanently deleted.

We can terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account is used for fraudulent or illegal activity, or if we are required to do so by law. In cases of serious violation, termination is immediate and without refund.

If we shut down. If Lumio ceases operations, we will give at least 60 days' notice and provide tools to export your data before the service ends.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumio's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. We provide the Service "as is" and "as available."

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumio, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your product, your users' experience of your product, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you have a dispute with Lumio, please contact us first at support@lumio.so. Most issues can be resolved quickly by talking to us directly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to resolve it through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in San Francisco, California. You waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief from a court.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Lumio after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
